day 165 of war in Ukraine.
The Russian Army boasts of having made territorial gains in Donbas. After several weeks of tense calm, fighting has intensified on the outskirts of Donetsk, but also on the Bakhmut-Soledar axis leading to the main Ukrainian strongholds, objective number one of the third phase of the Russian military campaign.
In Donetsk, three Ukrainian brigades reportedly lost “combat capacity and suffered heavy losses”, for which they “abandoned their positions”. These are Bajmut, a crucial communication axis to advance towards the bastions of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, and the town of Soledar.
The goal of Russian troops and separatist militias is to attack Bakhmut from the north. Meanwhile, the evacuation of the population in the Donetsk areas under the control of kyiv, ordered last Sunday by the president, Volodymyr ZelenskyIt’s going much slower than expected.

Another focus on Ukraine is the final departure of ships with grain, since the first since the beginning of the invasion departed last Monday. The three that will set sail in the next few hours will also do so through the maritime corridor agreed between kyiv and Moscow, bound for ports in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Turkey.
In total, they will transport 58,041 tons of corn; two of them will leave from Chornomorsk and the third from Odessa, and will pass the respective inspection once they reach Turkish territorial waters, as Turkey is the mediating country in the agreement on the maritime corridor.
The largest cargo, 33,000 tons, will travel aboard the Navistar, from Odessa and bound for the port of Ringaskiddy, in Ireland; the freighter Rojen will carry 13,041 tons to Teesporte (United Kingdom) and the Polarnet will transport 12,000 tons to Karasu, in Turkey.
