The G7 considered imposing sanctions on Iran for its missile and drone attack on Israel over the weekend.
The G7 member states “unequivocally and in the strongest terms condemn Iran's direct and unprecedented attack on Israel,” they said in a statement made public after their leaders held emergency online talks.

The G7, made up of Great Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States plus the European Union, expressed its “full solidarity and support for Israel.”
“Iran has taken another step towards destabilizing the region and risks provoking uncontrollable regional escalation,” the G7 statement said, adding that “we are ready to take new measures now and in response to new destabilizing initiatives” Iran and its proxies.
