The Moroccan Armed Forces announced this Sunday the rescue of 118 migrants, including three minors and nine women, off the coast of the city of Tarfaya, in the south of the country, and who were distributed in two boats that were supposedly They were heading towards the Canary Islands.
A Royal Navy patrol has assisted the two boats, 19 kilometers and 22 kilometers from Tarfaya, respectively, according to a statement from the Armed Forces published on their account on the social network X, formerly Twitter.
The Moroccan authorities have given basic aid to these people, among whom are migrants of sub-Saharan and Asian origin, before putting them at the disposal of the Gendarmerie to carry out the corresponding procedures, according to the Moroccan state news agency, MAP.
