Yemen's Houthis stress that Iran's attack on Israel is 'legitimate'

They call on Israel's allies to “prioritize the language of reason” and stop their “unlimited support” for the “Zionist entity”

April 14 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Houthi rebels have highlighted this Sunday that the drone and missile attack carried out by Iran against Israel is “legitimate” and have argued that it is part of their right to “self-defense” after the recent bombing of the Iranian Consulate in the capital. of Syria, Damascus, which resulted in the death of seven members of the Revolutionary Guard.

The Yemeni Foreign Ministry in the hands of the Houthis – backed by Tehran – has stated that the attacks “are consistent with International Law and the United Nations Charter” and has added that “countries that support the Zionist entity must give priority to the language of reason, take into account the interests of their countries and their people and stop their unlimited political, military, financial and logistical support for the Zionist entity.”

Thus, he stated that “the intransigence of the Zionists, their war crimes and the genocide against civilians, especially in the Gaza Strip, raise tensions in the Middle East.” “It will not stop at its borders and will reach many capitals,” he warned, according to the Yemeni news agency SABA.

For this reason, the rebel group has asked the United Nations Security Council to “assume its responsibilities” when it comes to “maintaining international peace and security” and has stated that the “continued policy of obstruction” of the organization's work by the veto of “some permanent members” – in reference to the United States – “threatens the survival of the UN.” “The world is entering a period of chaos,” he concluded.

The Israeli Army has confirmed that Iran's direct attack – the one announced by Tehran as Operation 'True Promise' – has included the launch of 170 drones, 30 cruise missiles and 120 ballistic missiles, “99 percent” of the which have been intercepted by Israeli defensive systems.

For its part, Iran has defended that these attacks are part of a legitimate response and its right to “self-defense” after the aforementioned bombing against its Consulate in Damascus, blamed on Israel and which resulted in the death of seven members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
