The GoPro Hero12 Black It has already been seen with spectacular shots during the snow season in Spain and, although a few months have passed since its launch, we wanted to put the latest addition to the brand that dominates the action camera market to the test. Hero12 Black offers an important renewal in image quality and autonomy, maintaining -to this day- its reign in the sector.
GoPro is very clear about its commitment to compact, resistant and ultra-versatile action cameras, for which the company has become famous, and with Hero12 Black it attacks one of the main weak points of previous versions: the battery. This new camera doubles the autonomy, allowing you to record up to 70 minutes at 5.3 K quality and 60 frames per second and 58 minutes in 4K and 120 frames per second. Without a doubt, the most anticipated change.
Another interesting aspect is its versatility when it comes to record in the format that interests us most at all times, something key for content creators. Its large aspect ratio full frame 8:7 can be trimmed up to a 9:16 portrait, 16:9 widescreen or traditional 4:3 format, allowing access in all of them to the different recording modes (TimeWarp, Sequence or night effects, for example) and the different image qualities.
In addition to quality, another of GoPro's hallmarks is its stabilization system, which allows record sports and action scenes without that uncomfortable vibration being perceived. It achieves this thanks to HyperSmooth 6.0 video stabilization, which combined with 120 frames per second recording modes allows you to capture slow motion scenes worthy of a movie (with a good post-production process).
Additionally, the camera has wireless audio compatibility for Bluetooth devices. That is, users can now record audio directly to the HERO12 Black from your AirPods, other Bluetooth headphones or microphones, an ideal option for making video blogs or narrating scenes. Likewise, they can be used to use voice commands to control the HERO12 Black remotely (without having to press any physical button).
For its part, it is worth highlighting its double LCD screen, both on the back (where we can navigate in a simple and intuitive way through the menu, in addition to comfortably viewing what we film) with a touch panel, and on the front, in case we want to take a selfie or record ourselves talking to the camera and, thus, prevent the image from being poorly framed or illuminated. We must remember that these action cameras not only allow us to capture video, but we can also take photographs with 27MP quality.
Finally, it is worth talking about the new accessories that GoPro incorporates (beyond those that were available until now). Here it draws special attention 'Max Lens Mod 2.0', an accessory lens that offers a much wider field of vision to achieve a more immersive experience.
