One person has died, 17 have been injured and 171 others have been trapped after a cable car cable collapsed outside the Turkish city of Antalya, in the southwest of the country.
The Minister of the Interior of Turkey, Ali Yerlikaya, reported this afternoon that rescue troops have already managed to remove 137 people from 19 of the 24 affected cable cars.
The balance has been confirmed by the Turkish Minister of Health, Fahrettin Koca.
The rescue efforts involve four helicopters from the Coast Guard Command and three helicopters from the Gendarmerie General Command.
607 search and rescue personnel, eight helicopters, a military cargo plane, 113 vehicles, six ambulances and drones have been assigned to the region.
The minister has also promised an investigation to clarify the causes of the tower's collapse.
