Two people killed in attack allegedly carried out by Al Shabaab in southeastern Kenya

April 10 (EUROPA PRESS) –

At least two people have died in an attack allegedly carried out by the jihadist group Al Shabaab in the Lamu region, in the southeast of Kenya and bordering Somalia, where the terrorist organization has a strong presence.

The Kenyan police have indicated that the alleged terrorists killed two people after having been harassing farmers. As they fled, they set two vehicles on fire, according to 'The Star' newspaper.

Eyewitnesses have indicated that approximately ten men robbed a vehicle transporting liquor from Mombasa town to Lamu. Security forces in the area shot the attackers, in a shootout that lasted approximately an hour until they fled into a forest.

In addition, they have launched an operation to locate suspected terrorists, deploying personnel to control the attacks. The Government of the African country has indicated that it has acquired more resources to improve operations in the border area against terrorists, since they have left people dead and displaced.
