April 9 (Portaltic/EP) –
Fairphone has announced the availability of its new Fairbuds wireless headphones for 149 euros, which offer the modular design of the rest of its products and incorporate active noise cancellation (ANC) technology, as well as advanced wind reduction.
Fairphone is a technology company based in Holland that is committed to manufacturing sustainable and repairable devices, such as mobile phones and headphones, thus defending the importance of software updates on its equipment and the resistance of the 'hardware' it develops.
Currently, the Fairphone catalog includes different smartphone models – its current flagship is Fairphone 5 – and a headphone model (Fairbuds XL), as well as their corresponding accessories (cases, chargers, etc.) and spare parts. .
The company has announced now the launch of Fairbuds, wireless headphones “designed to last” like the rest of its products, with 11mm drivers covered in titanium and featuring active noise cancellation technology with advanced wind reduction.
For its design, the company wanted to move away from the usual elongated format – of 'bud' with a stick – of this accessory, opting for a rotating battery that can be easily accessed – both with a screwdriver and a fingernail – and on which place a silicone ring, to prevent the entry of dust and moisture, which helps maintain IP54 certification.
This format is repeated in the white model, with the particularity that the silicone is transparent, to show the modularity of the interior. In this case, Fairphone has recommended that the battery be replaced once every two to three years.
With a battery capacity of 45 mAh in the case of the headphones and 500 mAh from the charging case – which translates into up to six hours of listening after a single charge and an additional 20 hours with the case -, they have an active noise cancellation system for high quality sound, powered by a six-microphone array (three on each side).
The firm has commented that with Fairbuds it has taken “a big step forward” by offering an extended three-year warranty, something that its previous model (Fairbuds XL) does not have. And they come with a variety of replaceable parts.
In fact, the charging case, with USB-C port, is completely serviceable and the outer casing forms a separate part of the core of the charging case that contains all its electronic components.
Fairbuds also have touch controls to facilitate their use, and have announced the launch of an application with which to control this product, which is also compatible with Fairbuds XL. Here you can customize the equalization settings, as well as update the headphones with the latest firmware versions.
The technology firm's new headphones are compatible with smartphones Fairphone 3, 3+, 4 and 5. They can now be purchased in two colors (black and white) for a price of 149 euros through their website. The application, for its part, is available for download at Google Play and App Store.
