A total of 16 people have been arrested in Nador, Morocco, in an operation against an organization that was dedicated to the international trafficking of stolen vehicles and the falsification of documentation and license plates.
The Judicial Police arrested the suspects on Saturday morning in an operation coordinated with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, according to the Moroccan portal LeSite citing sources from the security forces.
The network falsified license plates and then sold the stolen cars. In the operation, 69 vehicles of various brands, several false license plates, 220 engines and spare parts and documentation were seized.
Three hunting rifles, 33 cartridges, computers, mobile phones, digital storage devices and equipment for falsifying license plates, as well as cash in Moroccan and foreign currency, have also been found.
One of the detainees was already on the list of people wanted by the Judicial Police and the Royal Gendarmerie of El Aaiún, Agadir and Nador for the international trafficking of stolen vehicles.
