After being questioned by IGNa Blizzard spokesperson responded by mentioning that the prices seen in the survey “are not indicative of the final price” of these cosmetics for the game, but are random, from which the player must respond.

“This survey is entirely intended to better understand player preferences for different types of cosmetics from Overwatch 2. The prices shown in the survey are random according to the user and are not indicators of the final price. We plan to share more details about our Battle Pass store and system closer to our launch on October 4,” Blizzard said.

Let us remember that Blizzard wants with Overwatch 2 implement a free loot box system. But precisely what fans feared with this novelty is that by getting rid of the random factor, the title would offer the items directly, but at a high price.

It is also important to remember that the skins are simply cosmetic additions that are not necessary to play or to improve the performance of the characters, so the free-to-play player could continue enjoying the title without spending real money on it, like any another user.

Blizzard also mentioned that the survey includes questions that may not be reasonable. Precisely the purpose of the survey is to present these possibilities and let the players decide so that in the end Blizzard finds a satisfactory point for both the company and the players in terms of microtransactions.
