The spokesman for the National Security Council, John Kirby, confirmed this Monday at a press conference that the United States will send a new military aid package to Ukraine valued at 550 million dollars (536 million euros).
The Pentagon has said in a statement, picked up by Bloomberg, that the new aid will include more ammunition for the Advanced High Mobility Rocket Systems, known as HIMARS, as well as 75,000 rounds of 155-millimeter artillery ammunition.
“This authorization is the seventeenth removal of equipment from the Department of Defense inventories for Ukraine by the Biden Administration since August 2021,” the statement said, according to the US network .
In all, with this new package, Washington has committed approximately $8 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since the start of Russia’s first invasion of its neighbor in late February.
