The next PlayStation 5 update will arrive with new features and other additions highly requested by the community. Unfortunately, Sony is also planning to remove some features from its next-gen console this year.
Despite being on the market for a relatively short time, PlayStation 5 will lose one of its social features: the praise system. According to Sony, this is because very few players put it to use, so they think it’s better to take it out of the woodwork rather than have it completely abandoned.

PlayStation 5 will lose its praise system this year
through his support page, PlayStation revealed that it will withdraw support for the PlayStation 5 Praise System in a few months. There is no exact date yet for this to happen, but we know it will happen in the fall of this year.
Thus, the function will stop working between September and December. “This feature has not seen the level of usage that we anticipated, so we will redirect our efforts. We want to encourage the community to continue sending positive messages to each other,” the company said.
In case you don’t know, the praise system allows you to send feedback to people with whom an online multiplayer game was shared. The option was designed for people to send each other messages of recognition and support.
The option is usually activated in compatible games after an online multiplayer match ends. This way it is possible to send a compliment anonymously. Whoever receives it will be able to review it later to know how their behavior and attitude was when playing.
Players don’t seem to recognize each other’s abilities very much, so Sony will stop supporting this option. For now, it has not revealed its plans to provide a similar alternative to its console users.
