July 30 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Pakistani authorities have reported the death of at least 19 more people in incidents related to torrential rains in Balochistan and Khíber Pakhtunjua provinces in the northeast of the country.
The Army and the Border Corps have already mobilized to help the affected population and bring aid to the survivors.
The Pakistani Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, visited the affected areas this Saturday to verify the damage in person and supervise the rescue work, according to the Ministry of Information.
Sharif has spoken with the authorities in charge and has spoken directly with some of those affected by the floods. After that, he has ordered to accelerate the delivery of aid, food rations and medical supplies.
The rain unloaded in recent weeks has been the most abundant in the last 30 years, highlighted the prime minister, who has announced compensation of 1 million rupees (just over 4,000 euros) for families who have lost a relative.
There is also aid for those who have lost their house (500,000 rupees, about 2,000 euros) for being totally destroyed and 200,000 rupees (814 euros) for families whose housing damage exceeds 30 percent.
