July 29 (Portaltic/EP) –
Instagram it is going to stop the tests that it was carrying out in the redesign of its application, such as the introduction of the ‘feed’ to full screen or the transition of the videos to the ‘reels’ format.
The social network, owned by Meta, has announced this stoppage after receiving a barrage of criticism from its users, who were against the platform adopting similar features to those of TikTok.
Specifically, it has been Adam Mosseri, director of Instagram, who has released this news just two days after he reiterated his intention to prioritize the videos of the ‘reels’ instead of focusing their bet on aesthetic publications of the ‘feed’.
“I’m glad we took the risk. If we don’t fail from time to time, it’s because we’re not thinking with enough ambition or with enough audacity,” the manager acknowledged in an interview for Platform.
Mosseri has indicated that, after implementing these tests, the Instagram team needs to “take a big step back” and figure out how they want to move forward to return “with some kind of new idea or iteration” after what was learned with this movement.
This change of address also occurs days after the company’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, announced that changes in the ‘Recommendations’, where he assured that he would double the amount of content.
He did it during the presentation of economic results corresponding to the second semester, where the executive president of the technology company reported that Meta would give a boost to the so-called Discovery Engine.
As Zuckerberg commented, the company would focus on prioritizing random posts from other users, rather than sticking with your usual approach.
Currently, it focuses on offering its users more content published by others included in your friends list from Facebook or those you follow on Instagram.
