Twitter tests in iOS the start of a voice event from the tweet composer

Twitter seeks to facilitate and simplify the way in which users can initiate a space or voice-only event or post relevant ‘tweets’ for it within a live broadcast.

The Spaces, a function to develop voice-only events, appeared on the social network in October 2021 after being tested in 2020. The company now seeks to make the start of one of these spaces “easier” with two new buttons that it is already testing on iOS .

A button is located in the composer of ‘tweets’, with the image of the purple microphone that characterizes the spaces. Clicking on it directly opens the page with which you can start a voice event.

This form in evidence directly open the live event when launched from a ‘retweet’, on the subject of the publication, as the company explains in its publication on the social network. Specifically, it can be done with the option ‘Start a Space on this tweet’.

On the other hand, the company also simplifies the way in which share ‘tweets’ in a voice event from within the retweet menu. Here, next to the ‘Retweet’ and ‘Quote Tweet’ options, the user will find a third one, ‘Retweet This in [nombre del espacio]’.

The two novelties in the Twitter Spaces are currently being developed in two tests available for iOS users.
