Course Objectives

The course aims to present tools to understand the digital transformation processes of SMEs, in order to promote, accelerate and sustain their export processes. In particular, it will delve into identifying good practices and success stories in the design of policies and support instruments for the digital transformation of exporting SMEs.

Specific objectives

  • Understand the characteristics of digital transformation processes and visualize their potential as a tool to overcome some obstacles to export and innovation.
  • Delve into the particularities of the digital transformation processes in SMEs and especially their link with the process that these organizations go through in their international insertion.
  • Present a review of policies and support instruments developed by trade promotion organizations and other public and private agencies, to promote the digital transformation of SMEs for export.
  • Visualize and analyze good practices, development models and lessons learned in Latin America and the Caribbean, Korea and other countries of the world on policies and instruments to support the promotion of the digital transformation of SMEs for export

Course duration

This course takes place between September 12, 2022 and October 14, 2022, organized in five weekly modules. The approximate total academic load is 25 hours. Each module includes reading materials, viewing tutorials and videos with interviews, participating in a synchronous virtual class, and taking a short multiple-choice quiz.
