July 29 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The deputy spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, Farhan Haq, assured this Thursday that the United Nations is against the rhetoric of the North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, on the use of nuclear weapons, after he warned of that his country was “prepared” to use them as a deterrent.

Asked at a press conference about Pyongyang’s threat in the face of possible clashes with the United States and South Korea, Haq expressed the UN’s rejection of the use of “this type of deadly weapon.”

“Yes, we are against any rhetoric that implies the use of this type of deadly weapon and, of course, we continue to call for the resumption of negotiations on the peaceful denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula,” said the spokesman for the General Secretariat. of United Nations.

Kim Jong Un assured early Thursday that North Korea is preparing to mobilize “completely and quickly” the deterrent nuclear force and for any military confrontation with the United States or its neighbor South Korea.

“We have capable and fully ready weapons to respond to all crises, and we are in a position to fully and quickly precisely mobilize our own forces with a vocation for our country’s nuclear deterrence,” Kim stressed at an event held in the North Korean capital by the 69th anniversary of the armistice or truce of the Korean War (1950-1953), the South Korean agency Yonhap has reported.

The North Korean leader has warned South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol for his comments about a “preemptive strike” in the face of North Korea’s ballistic provocations.
Regarding the United States, Kim has assured that his country is “completely ready to respond to all military confrontations with the United States.”
