The president of Lithuania, Gitanas Nauseda, has confirmed that Vilnius will deliver to kyiv a new package of arms supplies in the framework of the war, which began more than five months ago by order of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.
Nauseda, who this Thursday met with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodimir Zelenski, has assured that he has not arrived in Ukraine “empty-handed”, as reported by the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform.
“We continue to do this now (provide military assistance), and I have not come empty-handed either. Today the new package is ammunition and ten armored vehicles,” the Lithuanian head of state announced at a joint press conference with Zelensky.
Along these lines, Nauseda has anticipated that Lithuania will soon show a self-produced system for anti-drone defense, something that, he considers, Ukraine greatly needs.
Finally, the Lithuanian president has asserted that Vilnius will not cease its support for kyiv and that the war unleashed by Russia will not become a daily occurrence for Lithuania. “We will not allow others to forget about the war and get tired, both in the West and in the East”, he has settled.
