Google has announced that its digital content download platform Play Store has been active for a decade, an anniversary that it has celebrated by presenting a new logo and multiplying the so-called Play Points by 10.

The company introduced Play Points three years ago, a rewards program that arrived in Spain at the beginning of last year and that allows you to earn points and obtain discounts, among other benefits, as downloads and purchases are made in the virtual store.

Usually, Google Play Points allows you to redeem points for special items in games or for Google Play credit and multiplies up to four times more points during special events.

To celebrate 10 years of running Google Play, Google has announced that during this Tuesday the members of your community they will be able to multiply by 10 the points that they obtain with these actions.

This is just one of the measures that he has highlighted within the framework of this anniversary, a moment in which he also recalled that it was in 2012 when he opened the door to this service, which currently registers more than 2.5 billion users in more than 190 countries worldwide.

To complete this decade, Google has presented the new logo of this store, with rounded shapes and more vivid colors, which adapt to the aesthetic line of the rest of the products and Google services, such as the Assistant, Photos or Gmail.


On the other hand, Google has reviewed what its work has been in the Play Store over the last 10 years, highlighting the launch of products and functions such as Google PlayPass Y Google Play Instant.

Likewise, he has highlighted that he has worked on the gameplay on more devices, with services such as the beta version of Google Play Games for PC in countries such as Hong Kong, South Korea or Taiwan.

With this, he has pointed out that at this time he has also made Google Play Protect available to users, an integrated solution against ‘malware’ for Android, which now checks millions of apps daily.

On the other hand, it has valued programs such as Indie Games for developers, its support for non-profit organizations or the initiative change the game, that seeks to empower women as players and creators.
