German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht confirmed on Tuesday that Berlin has reinforced its supply of heavy weapons to Ukraine by sending multiple rocket launcher systems and self-propelled howitzers.
Thus, the person in charge of defense functions has remarked that Germany “keeps its word”, while, from kyiv, the chief of staff of the Presidency, Andrei Yermak, has confirmed the reception of the weapons.
“The MLRS MARS II rocket launchers have already been transferred to Ukraine by our German allies. The Russians will have fire,” Yermak said, according to the Ukrainian press.
As a complement to these weapon systems, the German arms industry will also deliver a ‘Cobra’ model artillery tracking radar before the end of September, Lambrecht explained, reports DPA.
“The contract has already been signed, now the training of Ukrainian soldiers in this complex system will begin,” said the German minister, who has anticipated that training in the IRIS-T SLM air defense missile system will also begin in the following days.
