They find more than 200 migrants crowded in a warehouse in Mexico

(Reuters) – Mexican authorities reported on Sunday that more than 200 migrants, including several minors, were located inside a warehouse in the center of the country.

The National Migration Institute (INM) said in a statement that the group of 225 foreigners, mostly Guatemalans, was found in overcrowded conditions inside the building by police officers from the State of Mexico, in the center of the country.

The INM detailed that among the migrants there were 194 Guatemalans, 14 Hondurans, nine Nicaraguans, five Cubans and three more from El Salvador.

The Secretariat of Public Security of the State of Mexico mentioned, in a separate statement, that 248 migrants were found inside the warehouse, among whom there were “adult men, minors, women and four children in their arms (babies)”.

The INM could not immediately explain the discrepancy in the figures.
