“It casts doubt on Russia’s credibility”

The presidents of South Africa and the Ivory Coast welcome the resumption of grain exports from Ukraine

July 24 () –

The Secretary of State of the United States, Antony Blinken, has condemned the missile attack perpetrated this Saturday against the Ukrainian port of Odessa, one of the three designated for the export of cereals according to the agreement signed on Friday between Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and the ONU.

“The United States strongly condemns the Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian port of Odessa,” Blinken said in a press release.

Likewise, the Secretary of State has criticized the breach of the latest agreements reached with the United Nations, Turkey and Ukraine.

“Only 24 hours after finalizing an agreement to allow the resumption of Ukrainian agricultural exports through the Black Sea, Russia reneged on its commitments by attacking the historic port from which agricultural and grain exports would again be transported,” he said.

In this way, Blinken has assured that Russia “casts serious doubts on its credibility”, by breaching the commitment signed in the agreement that would allow food to be supplied to world markets.

“Russia has a responsibility to deepen the world food crisis and must stop its aggression and fully implement the agreement it has agreed to,” he concluded.
