Three suspected terrorists have died and four more have been arrested in two anti-terrorist operations carried out by the Pakistani Army in the province of North Waziristan, in the northwest of the country.

Among the detainees is a high-ranking commander of a militia who has been injured, as reported by the Army and reported by the Pakistani newspaper ‘Dawn’.

The leader has been arrested in a first operation along with three other suspects. In a second operation, three suspected militiamen have died.

“Weapons, ammunition and bombs have been recovered. All the terrorists belonged to the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group,” the Pakistani Armed Forces reported. “These terrorists were actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces, extorting ransoms and killing innocent citizens,” he explained.

On July 13, another six suspected terrorists were killed in an operation in the Dattajel region, also in North Waziristan province. A soldier died in the operation.

Two other soldiers and seven suspected terrorists were killed last month in the Ghulam Jan Kalle region, also in North Waziristan.
