Morocco suspends the Throne Festival due to the rebound in coronavirus cases

July 23 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Ministry of the Royal House of Morocco has announced the postponement of all activities related to the Feast of the Throne on July 30 due to an uptick in coronavirus infections.

“It has been decided to postpone all activities, festivities and ceremonies for the 23rd anniversary of the coronation of King Mohamed VI to the throne,” the Ministry said in an official statement. However, the official speech of the king is maintained.

Thus, the reception presided over by the monarch, the swearing-in of graduates in the Armed Forces, Police and colleges and institutes and the ceremony of swearing allegiance to the Commander of the Faithful, as well as parades and any other massive event, are postponed, according to the Moroccan news portal Hespress.

“God preserve his majesty the king, grant him long life and keep him for the good of his faithful people,” concludes the text published by the Ministry.
