Silverstone releases a PCI Express adapter to mount two M.2 drives.

Silverstone has launched a new low profile adapter that It will allow us to mount M.2 SSD drives. in any PCI Express x4, x8 or x16 slot that we have in our equipment. However, it does so with an extremely low profile that will allow us to forget about worries derived from the box of our equipment.

This adapter, under the SST-ECM28 model, has the possibility of mounting an M-Key type SSD (NVMe) on one side and a B-Key on the other (SATA), because although it is powered by PCI Express, It has the possibility of connecting a SATA data cable to take advantage of the space occupied by this adapter.

In motherboards without a top cover, we can mount the adapter in x4, x8 and x16 slots, but in the event that our motherboard has a cover, we could have problems in the small slots, since this adapter has a retention tab for a x16 slot, just like graphics cards do.

This adapter supports SSD sizes between 2230 and 2280, so we shouldn’t have any physical compatibility issues. For now we do not know the price of the adapter, but in this link we have all the related data.
