July 22 (Portaltic/EP) –
Opera and GameMaker have announced GX.games mobile, a free platform for creating and publishing mobile games simultaneously on iOS and Android based on WebAssembly.
The GX.games desktop platform appeared in 2021 and already has more than 1,500 games of different genres designed with GameMaker. With the announcement, it seeks to replicate its success in the development of mobile games.
GX.games mobile, which is the name given to this new version, is currently in beta phase. It will allow developers to share their mobile creations with a audience of 16 million people on Opera GX.
The games will be based on WebAssemblywhich will allow them to run with native-like performance, regardless of mobile platform, and it will not be necessary to download them to be able to play them, as detailed in a statement.
GX.games mobile also offers developers a platform to show and test your projects before publishing them where they can share them with their test audience by creating a single link for desktop and mobile.
Also, GameMaker has recently incorporated new tools that allow the creation of multiplayer games no need to be a programming expert.
