“This new investment in Mexico, a reflection of the confidence and certainty we have in the country, is added to the other projects announced in June of this year for Mexico and Latin America, totaling an investment of 1.2 billion dollars in the next five years. years, which will be aimed at four areas in this region: digital infrastructure, digital skills, entrepreneurial ecosystem and inclusive and sustainable communities”.

Regarding the place where this center could be located, Velázquez mentioned that they still have it defined and it will be selected based on their analysis regarding the best geographical area in terms of energy, costs and proximity to customers. He also highlighted that it will be complemented by the support center located in Mexico that provides service to the entire world.

Although there is no opening date yet, this will be the third cloud region in Latin America, along with Santiago, Chile, and São Paulo, Brazil. Its purpose is to provide enterprise services and products to Google Cloud Platform customers and to help companies, regardless of size or whether they are public or private, meet their regulatory needs.

“Organizations are seeing the cloud as an enabler of their transformation,” said Velázquez and added that seven out of 10 companies consider themselves mature in digital issues with 60% adoption, in addition to the fact that in the pandemic 69% of companies companies accelerated digitization, according to data from KPMG.
