The outgoing Congress of the Republic left reforms in economic matters that are important for the country. The legislators, who concluded their work on July 20, approved most of the bills in virtual sessions, thanks to the restrictions of the pandemic

Next, we tell you about some of the most relevant economic reforms left by the legislature.
Junk food bill
Food and beverages that have a certain level of processing, which exceeds the thresholds established by the Ministry of Health, must inform about their content and warn consumers about it.
Bill that eliminates single-use plastics in the country
The use of 14 types of plastics, among which are: plastic bags in stores, bags for packing newspapers or bills, cotton balls, straws, containers and containers for transporting food, as well as plates and cutlery plastic, it will gradually disappear.
Bill of ‘clean slate’
This is a one-time amnesty for Colombians who catch up within the first 12 months of the law’s validity, and for those who have done so before, which consists in the fact that the debtor’s negative report must be immediately removed from credit bureaus.
Bill on labor disconnection
Regulate and guarantee the right of workers to disconnect from work, in order to prevent companies in the country from violating rest spaces for their collaborators after the working day established by law.
tourism bill
Elimination of the energy surtax and Impoconsumo for food and beverages during 2021; the renewal of the National Tourism Registry without charging a penalty for lateness until March 2021; the reduction of VAT to 5% on air tickets and administrative fee; the regulation of electronic or digital platforms that market tourist services.
