WhatsApp It will allow the use of avatars within the messaging application, a novelty that the company is already working on and that will have an editing tool so that the user can customize theirs.
“A new way to be you on WhatsApp” is what Meta proposes for the introduction of the avatars in your instant messaging ‘app’, since these characters will be able to replace the user’s face during video calls.
The company has been working on its implementation for months. At the end of June, a first contact with this novelty appeared in the Android beta, a button to change from the real image to the avatar in video calls.
The version 2.22.16.11 of the beta for Android allows to see now the page of the avatar editing tool, with which users can customize theirs, and which shows an example of these digital elements, with a design very similar to that of Facebook avatars, as collected by the WABetaInfo portal.
Avatars can be send too as ‘stickers’ or stickers to the contacts within the chatsas is also the case on Facebook and Messenger, and although they have now appeared in the beta for Android, it is expected that they will also be available in the ‘app’ for iOS.
