In recent years, the lowest figure for September was in 2020, the year of Covid-19, with 113,850 positions.

And the highest a year later (2021) with the creation of 174,096 formal jobs.

The IMSS points out that the monthly increase in September of this year is equivalent to a monthly rate of 0.4%.

Regarding the accumulated period from January to September 2024, the creation of formal jobs was 456,417 positions, a drop of 39.6% compared to the same period in 2023.

In the last 12 months, there has been a growth of 351,370 jobs, representing an annual rate of 1.6%.

By sector, the one with the greatest growth is transportation and communications with 5.4%, commerce with 3.2% and social and communal services with 2.3%.

By federal entity, Chiapas, Hidalgo and the State of Mexico stand out with annual increases greater than 5%.

As of September 30, 2024, there are 22,480,803 jobs registered with the IMSS, 86.6% are permanent and 13.4% are temporary.
