70% of the workforce at Inditex stores in Spain, out of a total of 27,000 employees, is in the salary range of 20,000 euros or more per year, according to estimates obtained by Europa Press. All employees also receive additional variable remuneration linked to sales, which basically includes a monthly commission and, in 2023, also an annual incentive of 1,000 euros.
In this way, the bulk of the staff of the establishments of the group founded by Amancio Ortega have been there for more than a year and a half or hold positions of responsibility.
The salary of the entire store staff in Spain is made up of a fixed part plus a variable part (monthly sales commission plus annual sales incentive).
The tables that have been agreed upon with the unions guarantee fixed minimums by length of service: group I (a sales clerk and cashier with less than 18 months of service) will earn a minimum of 18,000 euros per year; group II (clerk and cashier 18 months and 4 years old) will charge 20,000 euros per year; group III (clerk and cashier 4 years and older) will have a salary of 22,000 euros per year and group IV (responsible, central cashier) will receive 24,500 euros per year.
These are fixed minimums that standardize the fixed remuneration in Inditex stores in Spain, in many cases above what is established by provincial sectoral agreements.
To these fixed amounts must be added the variable remuneration that all store employees receive every month based on sales. This monthly sales component increases by at least 16%, and the annual incentive of 1,000 euros is recovered by 2023.
With these figures, some estimates indicate that 70% of the workforce in stores already receives a salary of no less than 25,000 euros per year plus other items, while 25% places their salary above 28,500 euros per year plus other items. .
