Intersoftware, the largest business network in the technology sector in Colombia, presented its Annual IT Sector Report, an analysis of the dynamics of human talent in companies in the technology sector in Antioquia which gives a perspective of the sector in general.

According to Carolina Vélez, executive director of Intersoftware, the study is based on data provided by more than 30 member companies of the network, which allows precise benchmarking in key areas such as talent attraction and retention, salary adjustments and social responsibility. business and offers business and human talent leaders a clear overview of trends, challenges and best practices in talent management, aligned with digital transformation and innovation.
Among the main findings reported are:
1. Talent Attraction and Retention: 85% of technology professionals are employed, exceeding the national average of 78%. However, high labor turnover of 18% and the migration of talent abroad represent significant challenges.
2. Gender Equality: Only 22% of artificial intelligence professionals are women, and only 16% hold executive roles, reflecting the need to close the gender gap and promote greater diversity in the sector.
3. Emerging Technologies: 30.8% of companies are already adopting advanced technologies such as data analytics, automation and cybersecurity, areas that set the standard in technological innovation.
4. Future of Work: It is projected that 30% of jobs in the IT sector will be affected by artificial intelligence and automation in the next five years, which will imply a change in the skills required and the nature of work.
5. Growth of the IT sector: The IT industry in Antioquia has grown 20% annually in the last five years, positioning itself as one of the main sources of high-value employment in the region.
6. Demand for specialized talent: More than 60% of companies in the sector are looking for specialized talent in areas such as software development, data science and artificial intelligence, reflecting high demand that exceeds current supply.
7. Investment in innovation: 80% of technology companies in Antioquia have invested in innovation and digital transformation processes, seeking to improve their competitiveness and adapt to new global trends.
8. Impact on employability: The IT sector in Antioquia employs more than 25,000 people directly, with a projection of generating more than 5,000 new jobs in the next two years, focused on critical technological areas.
9. Internationalization of the sector: Around 70% of Intersoftware companies have managed to expand to international markets, exporting their technological products and services mainly to the United States, Latin America and Europe, consolidating Antioquia as an emerging technological hub in the region.
