At least 17 people have died and nearly 35 have been injured in a bus accident in the Afghan province of Baghlan, located in the north of the Central Asian country, authorities have confirmed.
Gayur Jadim, head of the provincial police intelligence department, told Afghan television channel Ariana that the incident took place in Jenjan and added that three children were among the dead.
He also said that the bus was travelling between the capital Kabul and the city of Mazar-e Sharif, capital of Balkh province, when it crashed in the Takhta Sang area for reasons that are currently unknown.
