16 people killed and more than 35 injured after bus and truck collide in Senegal

September 10 (EUROPA PRESS) –

At least 16 people have died and 36 others have been injured in a collision between a bus and a truck in the Senegalese town of Ndangalma, located in the Diourbel region (north), authorities have confirmed.

The bus, which was travelling between Pikine Icotaf and the capital, Dakar, collided head-on with the truck on the RN3 highway, causing the almost complete destruction of both vehicles, as shown in images from the scene of the accident.

Sixteen of the injured are in serious condition, so the death toll may rise, according to the Senegalese news site Dakar Actu. The authorities have not yet commented on the possible causes of the accident, in which the drivers of both vehicles died.
