16 people die in a landslide in Madagascar

At least 16 people have died when the boat they were in on the Tsiribihina River, in western Madagascar, was hit by a landslide on Tuesday night, local authorities reported.

The Maritime, Port and River Agency of Madagascar indicated this Wednesday through a statement published on its profile on the social network Facebook that another ten people who were on the ship have been rescued.

The government agency and the Ministry of Transport and Meteorology have expressed their condolences to the families of the victims and have sent a message to local authorities to carry out an investigation.
