Around 15 people died this Thursday due to a series of bombings carried out by Israel against various points in the Gaza Strip, within the framework of the offensive unleashed more than eight months ago against the enclave after the attacks carried out on October 7 by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other Palestinian factions.

According to information collected by the Palestinian Maan news agency, at least six people have died in a bombardment against a house in the Zeitun neighborhood of Gaza City, located in the north of the Strip and where the Israeli Army has begun a new incursion.

Likewise, four people, including two children, have been killed in another attack against the Nuseirat refugee camp (center), while another five Palestinians have been killed in a bombing against the town of Al Mugraqa, north of the camp.

On the other hand, the Palestinian news agency WAFA has reported on attacks by land, sea and air against Al Mauasi, designated by Israel as a “safe zone”, although the Israeli Army has stated that “contrary to information from In recent hours, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have not carried out attacks in the humanitarian area of ​​Al Mauasi”, located near Rafá (south).

The Israeli Army has also indicated in a statement on its website that during the last 24 hours it has bombed 45 “terrorist targets” in the enclave and has said that “more than ten terrorists” have been “eliminated” in central Gaza, including a suspect who allegedly participated in the October 7 attacks.

“Among the targets attacked are military buildings, terrorist squads, rocket launchers, tunnels and other terrorist infrastructure,” he said, while confirming that the military “continues to operate in the Rafah area”, located on the border with Egypt and the scene of of an offensive since May 6. “Several terrorists have been eliminated in face-to-face confrontations,” she added.

Israel launched its offensive against the Gaza Strip after the aforementioned attacks on October 7, which left some 1,200 dead and 240 kidnapped. Gazan authorities, controlled by Hamas, have reported more than 37,200 deaths, while more than 520 Palestinians have died in the West Bank and East Jerusalem at the hands of Israeli forces or in attacks by settlers.
