Although it was one of the first x86 consoles in this format, today the internal hardware of the Steam Deck has been widely surpassed by models such as the ASUS ROG Ally. This has caused Valve’s proposal to lose competitiveness, but it can still be an option to take into account when the company responsible for Steam applies discounts.
Precisely, Valve has launched a promotion until July 11 at 7:00 p.m. Spanish time, for which reduces the price of the 64 GB Steam Deck and the 512 GB version by 15%. In this way, the 64 eMMC memory model (not SSD) remains in 313.65 euroswhile the variant with 512 GB SSD drops below 400 euros to stay at 398.65 euros, cheaper than the 256 GB model.
Unfortunately, the discount is on the old version with an LCD screen, and not on the new model with a better screen with OLED technology and other improvements. These OLED variants maintain prices of 569 euros and 679 euros for the 512 GB and 1 TB models respectively.
The model on offer, with LCD, has an AMD processor with only 4 cores and 8 threads of the old Zen 2 architecture, accompanied by 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, a 7-inch screen with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels and 60 Hz frequency
