14 people killed by fire on a passenger ship in southern Indonesia

At least 14 people have died this Monday after the fire of the passenger ship ‘Cantika Express’ in southern Indonesia, according to local authorities.

“So far, the number of victims of the burning ship has increased to 14 people, of whom seven have been transferred to Kupang city,” the head of the search and rescue office of the Kupang city, capital of the Indonesian province of East Nusa Tenggara.

Local authorities have confirmed that search efforts will continue throughout Tuesday, while the burning ship continues to sail in the sea, so that the fire continues to burn the ship, reports the Indonesian agency Antara.

At the moment, 114 people from the ship have been successfully evacuated from the total of 240 who were on the ship.
