In the second installment of Road to the White House (the podcast) we analyze the proposals of the Republican candidate who seeks to return to the White House. Economy, migration, abortion rights, international relations… In this episode we take a look at the life and proposals of Donald Trump.
Donald Trump has been an anomaly in American politics over the past century. His direct, straightforward style of communication and populist rhetoric that appeals to the “silent majority” — a term popularized by Nixon — has been known to connect effectively with his base, but also to be incendiary, inaccurate or false. This approach has allowed him to consolidate and expand his influence in the Republican Party, which has embraced the tycoon, and thus returns to rallies and the spotlight with the hope of returning to the White House.
The elections in the most powerful nation in the world have a global impact: foreign policy decisions – even domestic ones – that come from Washington resonate throughout the planet. These elections are marked by an international scenario in transformation, following a global pandemic, multiple active geopolitical conflicts, in which the United States is engaged, and a process of reconfiguration of world power towards other actors in the global south.
In Road to the White House (the podcast) we take a look at the key aspects to understand the US elections, which will be held on November 5.
In it First episode of Road to the White House We detail, one by one, the events that have marked this election.
