🎧 The crucial moments of a historic campaign for the White House

First modification:

In this first episode of Road to the White House (the podcast), we address one by one the recent events that have impacted the presidential campaign in the United States. The conviction against former President Donald Trump for the ‘Stormy Daniels’ scandal; a resounding assassination attempt against the Republican; President Joe Biden’s resignation from seeking reelection and the Democratic enthusiasm around the figure of Kamala Harris have set the pace of this race against time to lead the first power.

The countdown to November 5 is getting shorter amidst events that have set the pace of an atypical and historic electoral race in the United States. This episode briefly recounts the events that have set the pace of this electoral race: on May 30, a Manhattan jury found former President Donald Trump guilty of 34 charges of falsifying business records relating to his 2016 election campaign, the first time that a legal case of this magnitude has been successful against a former US president.

The former president also received notice from the Supreme Court confirming that he had partial immunity from prosecution for actions during his presidency, in a direct allusion to the assault on the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

In another line of historic events, on June 11, the conviction of Hunter Biden, President Biden’s son, by a Delaware court for lying about his drug use on a form to purchase a gun in 2018, on which a verdict is still awaited.

With less than 60 days to go until the election, in the podcast Road to the White House we will take you step by step to understand the complexity of an election that will have a global impact, given the geopolitical importance of the United States in the world.

Throughout 10 episodes, every Sunday from September 8 to November 10, we will explain the Democratic and Republican bets for the White House; the electoral college system; demographics and their weight in key states; the swing states and their importance, among others.
