June 21. (Portaltic/EP) –
Youtube will soon ask the users of your iOS app if they want to have a more personalized advertising experience, a measure that seeks to comply with the App Store’s application tracking transparency.
Since the arrival of iOS 14 in 2021, developers have to comply with the App Tracking Transparency standard, which means they have to receive explicit permission of users to be able to track your activity for advertising purposes.
This standard is embodied in a request window of the permission that appears to the user, which details the data information they collectso that users can give their consent and the application can use their advertising identifier.
This window is the one that YouTube will soon show on iOS, as reported in 9to5Googleand that will grant a single use permit to track user activity in other applications and web pages.
The users may choose to allow tracking, thereby activating a setting that will show personalized ads in the YouTube ‘app’; either refuse permission, to prevent the activity from being linked to the application and the experience being less personalized.
This window will not appear for users who have a Premium subscription or for children’s accountsthey add in the cited medium.
