YouTube redesign adds ambient mode and pinch-to-zoom features

Youtube has announced the redesign of its interface, which has been accompanied by the implementation of new functions such as the ambient mode within the dark theme, or the possibility of enlarging the image with ‘pinch to zoom’.

The streaming video platform has incorporated ambient modeafter receiving positive reviews during testing, allowing the interface to dynamically change the background color to match the video.

The company has reported on your blog that this novelty is available both in the web version and in the mobile application of YouTube, as part of the dark theme. The latter, moreover, it has been darkened to make the colors stand out more.

Playlists will also display that colored background on the video being played, and the image that accompanies the rest of the videos now has rounded edges.

Google has also modified the way they are displayed the links in the descriptions of the videoswho adopt the shape of buttonsand frequent actions (Like, Share and Download), have been redesigned to reduce distractions.

To make video content more accessible, the company has implemented ‘pinch to zoom’ Y ‘precise search’. These two functions, available from this Monday, allow, on the one hand, to enlarge and reduce the image of the video being played to attend to the detail from the mobile, and, on the other, to reach a certain part by browsing through thumbnails of the playback.
