Account verification interface in X – X @PORTALTIC

April 12 (Portaltic/EP) –

The platform x, before Twitter, will stop offering the function that allows hide blue badge which is granted with the Premium mode, something that until now was optional and that could be modified from the User Account Settings section.

When the social network was still Twitter, this verification indicated that a certain account was of public interest because it belonged to journalists, politicians or celebrities, among other personalities. Thus, to receive this mark, users had to prove that they were an authentic, relevant and active profile.

However, with the arrival of Elon Musk as the new owner, at the end of 2022, the firm implemented a change in its account verification policy, so that the badge would become exclusive to users subscribed to its payment method, Twitter Blue (now X Blue).

This means that the badge, which changes color depending on the type of profile, was no longer intended for these people of general interest and anyone who paid a monthly or annual fee to the platform could count on it.

A few weeks ago, Musk announced a new change in this section, with the automatic and free deployment of the badges in all those accounts on the platform that had more than 2,500 verified followers, who would also obtain the rest of the advantages of the Premium modality. Those who had more than 5,000 followers could enjoy the benefits of Premium+, the most advanced payment method, free of charge.

This measure was not well received among some users, who insisted that it was a imposed insignia. However, the company then allowed it to be hidden, both in the profile and in the publications, although if this mark was deleted there was the possibility that some functions of the social network were not available.

This, however, will no longer be possible soon, as shared by the user Ben Gogging and collect the specialized media The Vergewhich has received a notification from the platform.

This notification informs you that “the feature that hides your X Premium badge will be disappearing soon” and encourages you to manage the features that are in this subscription.
