Windows 12 is closer than we think and begins to be present in Windows 11

Microsoft has been slowly introducing big changes to the Settings app in Windows 11. Although it’s not available to the general public yet, some of them have already started making their way to Insider users.

These include things like the dedicated USB4 page, which has now made its way to the Canary channel, the Dev channel, as well as the Beta channel. And the thing does not end here, but everything is directed towards the same place: Windows 12.

Things keep being added and tweaked, and the latest enhancement brings an option to switch to a Cloud PC. There will be two ways to access it, a full screen desktop via Task View, or as an App window.

Options for adding accessories and ports to the Cloud PC have also been added. Therefore, users may not need a dedicated application. The latest build 23419 enables these options via the new “settingshandlers_cloudpc” DLL. Here more information.

Windows 12 begins to be a reality

Although the integration While some of the cloud PC options within Settings may not seem exciting at first glance, it makes sense in the grand scheme of things, as Microsoft’s Panos Panay has already declared that the next generation of Windows 11 and the experience of Windows 12 they will be optimized to harness the power of the cloud and artificial intelligence (AI).

The latter is making strong strides, too, in that the AI-powered Bing Chat experience is now available from the taskbar. And there’s also AI-powered wallpaper news (we’ll see how that turns out, but it sounds interesting).

The future of Microsoft’s operating system involves integrating artificial intelligence within the same OS code and the goal is to improve the experience and make our lives much easier. This future Windows 12 may be the real revolution we have been waiting for.
