How do universities contribute to Research Data Management (GDI) and what alternatives do they offer researchers for their preservation, financing and visibility? In this presentation, Diana Perdomo presents the results of a comparative study of the GDI in Latin American universities and the United Kingdom. We will discover how these institutions offer researchers innovative options to preserve, finance and increase the visibility of their work, becoming pillars of quality and academic integrity.
Among the literature retrieved, the study highlights an article by L. Horton and the Digital Curation Center (DCC, 2016) that used 13 GDI measurement indicators to evaluate 57 universities in the United Kingdom. This instrument is contrasted with a sample of 50 Latin American universities, resulting from the Web Ranking of Universities (Webometrics, from June 2021), using the “Openness” indicator.
