( ) –– The Vive Latino festival concluded its 23rd edition this Sunday with one of its highest attendances. The presentation of the Californian band Red Hot Chili Peppers literally shook the Foro Sol. Here we present 5 things that marked the festival.
1. The return of the Red Hot Chili Peppers to Mexico
Thousands of people gathered at Vive Latino to dance to the rhythm of funk punk by Anthony Kiedis, John Frusciante, Flea, Chad Smith.
The band returned to the stages of Mexico with the original lineup and interpreting some of their classics: “Around The World”, “Dani California”, “Scar Tissue”, “Californication”, “Under the Bridge” and closing with “Give it Away”.
During his presentation, the Foro Sol was completely full, from the stands to the esplanade. And for several chords the place shook to the rhythm of thousands of fans jumping and dancing at the same time.
Kiedis promised to return to Mexico soon.
2. The Bunkers made the hearts of those attending Vive Latino vibrate
The Chilean band Los Bunkers also packed the festival’s main stage. As the afternoon arrived in Mexico City, thousands of the band’s followers chanted and danced to their songs.
After several years of not stepping on the festival stage, Chilean musicians flooded the hearts of thousands of attendees with their chords and hits. Classics like “It rains over the city”, “Dancing alone”, “Come here” and “Lie to him” were sung at the top of their lungs.

3.Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra shouted their passion for Mexico
The Japanese Ska band dedicated a serenade to Mexico and its followers at Vive Latino. In addition to their performances full of rhythm and joy, the musicians dedicated “Cielito lindo” on the festival’s main stage. The group has assured that they love going to Mexico and they intend to give a series of concerts throughout the country, sharing the stage with one of the emblematic Mexican bands in the coming months, Los Estrambóticos.

4. Kinky, Swarm, Spring and Heavy Group
If something has characterized the festival in recent editions, it is the variety of rhythms that are concentrated to close a magical night of concerts. Those in charge of closing the 23rd edition of Vive Latino this year left a very good taste in the mouth. The Kinky group from Monterrey played a series of hits that turned their followers on. Enjambre, a group from Fresnillo, Zacatecas, delighted with a great repertoire, including “Intruso”, “Siempre tú” and “Vida en el espejo”. Meanwhile, the band nu metal Spring returned several to their school days with songs like “Alcohol” and “They are coming for me”, as well as sharing the stage with the Hispanic Rapper. Grupo Pesado closed the festival with their greatest hits, “Tragos amargos” and “A chillar a otra parte”.
5. Paul Oakenfold invited Fey on stage
The producer and DJ Paul Oakenfold made the thousands of attendees dance who, even in the early hours of this Monday, were still enjoying the festival. The surprise was when the singer Fey made a small participation on stage that caused an uproar among the audience.
