In addition to the VESA DisplayHDR and DisplayHDR True Black certifications, aimed at knowing the HDR reproduction capabilities of different monitors and panels; VESA has the ClearMR certification which seeks to classify the different screens according to the level of Motion Blur they have and, therefore, the clarity they are capable of achieving.
ClearMR has now received three new levels: VESA ClearMR 15000, ClearMR 18000 and ClearMR 21000, in order to classify the latest monitors on the market that reach high refresh rate figures, above 480 MHz, and with technologies that reduce Motion Blur.
Companies like Gigabyte, MSI or LG They will launch new monitors on the market at CES capable of reaching these higher levels with high-frequency QD-OLED panels.
With this addition, VESA Clear™ offers 14 different levels, from the ClearMR 3000 for the most basic monitors, up to the ClearMR 21000 for the most advanced, with greater image clarity and higher CMR, where CMR is a metric called Clear Motion Ratio or “Clear Movement Ratio.”
ClearMR Certification Level | CMR Range |
---|---|
3000 | 2500 ≤ CMR |
4000 | 3500 ≤ CMR |
5000 | 4500 ≤ CMR |
6000 | 5500 ≤ CMR |
7000 | 6500 ≤ CMR |
8000 | 7500 ≤ CMR |
9000 | 8500 ≤ CMR |
10000 | 9500 ≤ CMR |
11000 | 10500 ≤ CMR |
12000 | 11500 ≤ CMR |
13000 | 12500 ≤ CMR |
15000 | 14000 ≤ CMR |
18000 | 16500 ≤ CMR |
21000 | 19500 ≤ CMR |
