US sanctions five individuals and one entity from Iran for allegedly planning attacks abroad

The United States authorities have announced this Thursday the imposition of a new package of sanctions against five individuals and one entity from Iran for their alleged involvement in the organization of attacks abroad.

The United States Department of the Treasury has indicated that the five people designated by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) are related to the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, whom it has accused of “participating in a series of plots terrorists”.

Among these plans, he explained, is the attempted assassination of former senior officials of the US government and citizens of the US country, as well as Iranian dissidents, as indicated by the Treasury in a statement.

In this sense, he has pointed out that among the individuals sanctioned are several high intelligence officials of the Revolutionary Guard and a company also related to the Iranian Armed Forces.
