The Ukrainian authorities have activated a general air alert at dawn on Monday due to the threat of Russian attacks in various parts of the country.
The alarm has sounded in the regions of Sumy (north), Poltava, Kharkov (east), Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Donetsk, Nikolaev (south), Kherson and Odesa, as reported by the Unian agency.
The Kiev Region Military Administration has also issued an air alert for missile strikes, asking residents to stay in shelters until the alert is over.
The head of the Ukrainian Presidency, Andrei Yermak, has urged not to ignore the alarms and has asked citizens to take care of their safety, as indicated on their social networks.
