UCSC Computer Science Civil Engineering students participated in programming contest

“BruteForce” was the name of the team from the House of Study that was part of the final of the South American/South Zone International University Programming Competition.

By UCSC Communications.-UCSC was represented by the “BruteForce” team, made up of Computer Civil Engineering students Kevin Campos, Adolfo Constanzo and Vicente Bastidas; those who were accompanied by the coach Diego Maldonado, professor of the Department of Computer Engineering.

“Since 2019, UCSC did not participate in this competition, so the instance was a lot of learning for the team. The university will participate in the next final corresponding to the year 2023 that will be held again in Coquimbo. For our part, the first week of April the Competitive Programming Workshop will resume its practices, in order to strengthen the current team and form new teams that represent the university in competitions of this style”, Maldonado commented.

The Final International University Programming Competition (ICP) 2022 South America-South zone was held in the city of Coquimbo, with the objective of choosing the representatives in the world phase, finally won by representatives of the Pontifical Catholic University. It is worth mentioning that this contest was organized by the ICPC Foundation and locally by the Universidad Católica del Norte.
